Buffers Alley Winning Car Handover
13/04/2022
After three months of selling tickets during the winter, some members of Buffers Alley were present at Doyle’s Garage, Courtown last Thursday to join with Bernard Doyle in handing over the keys to the lucky winner, Eddie Redmond. While tickets were purchased in all corners of the country, it was local man, Eddie Redmond from our neighbouring club Réalt na Mara whose name came out of the drum.
Cate Donohoe, Chairperson of Buffers Alley GAA Club “We are delighted to reach this part of our fundraising project where we hand over a brand-new Peugeot 208 to the lucky winner. On behalf of our GAA and Camogie clubs, I would like to thank our fundraising team who did trojan work selling tickets far and wide for the raffle. The project began with the plan to upgrade our club tractor and to provide support in the development of facilities and coaching for our ever-growing membership across the whole club. It has been a pleasure to work with Bernard from Doyle’s Peugeot Garage, Courtown on this fundraising project and I would like to congratulate the winner.
Another aspect of our fundraising venture which was very pleasing was the financial support that we were able to give to a very deserving local charity, namely St Aidan’s Day Care Centre who do exceptional work in the Gorey area with Emer Mannion from the centre drawing the winning ticket”.
Second prize of €1,000 went to Micheál and Lisa Fanning with Kieran Crowley winning the third prize of €500. Well done to everyone who contributed in any way to the success of the draw.
