Buffers Alley Poker Classic 2019- It’s a Whyte Christmas

John Whyte came out on top from a field of over fifty players, who attended this year’s Poker Classic,which was held in the clubhouse on Friday last. In all close to €1500 was given out in prizes in what continues to be a very popular event with card sharks in the county.

John, a first time finalist, had accumulated a big lead on his way to the final and saw off his nearest challenger Tess Enright in the final few hands. The final placings were John Whyte, who also got first poker, Tess Enright, John Fenlon, Matty Foley, Paul Doran and Tommy Farrell.

Nellie Farrell claimed the Door Prize which was kindly sponsored by Hammell’s Centra and further prizes supplied by Johnny Dempsey were won by Ross Donohue and Mark Kavanagh.

The committee would like to thank Ben Martin who was referee and all the club members who provided refreshments on the night. A final word of thanks to all the card players who continue to support this event in such good numbers.
