Buffers Alley

Club monthly draw - the annual club monthly draw tickets are now in circulation and are available from the usual promoters. The tickets cost €10 per month or €120 for the full year with a special draw for all those who have paid the full amount before the first draw.  If you would like more information, please contact the club chairperson, Cate Donohoe on 086 8382566. All former club members very welcome to join this fundraising draw.

Gear Sale

To prepare for the club going online with O’Neill’s sportswear, a sale of all remaining stock will take place on Fri.  night 1st Feb.  at the same times  as the membership/registration night. (7pm to 9pm). While the club is going down the online route, the co-ordinator of the gear shop, Lorraine Murphy will continue to stock shorts, socks and jerseys as these items are often required at short notice.  Lorraine may be contacted on 087 6897711 or you may pm her on the Buffers Alley GAA Gear and Leisure Wear  FB Page.

Membership Night

The membership night for all sections will take place in the clubhouse on Fri. 1st Feb. 7pm to 9pm. Membership may be paid on the night as well as completion of registration forms. Some may prefer to pay per monthly standing order with details of club’s IBAN and BIC number available at registration or you may contact officers of the individual sections in advance of membership.  Many of our members also avail of the monthly SO to organize a bulk monthly payment to pay membership, club monthly draw, model county draw and Croke Park tickets. This is a great system facilitating the financial load at the early part of the year. If you choose to pay by Standing Order, it is important to contact the Treasurer, Ger Hendrick to ensure he is aware to include you in draws, etc.   Also, it would be appreciated if as many people as possible would consider joining the social/non-playing membership as a lot of people use the clubhouse/grounds at various stages throughout the year. Rates are currently on our Facebook and Website pages. Looking forward to seeing a good turnout on the night and a special welcome to new members.

Senior Scór

Following on from the recent success of our underage members, now is the time for our adult members to showcase their talents.  Details of the Senior Scór have been released.  The Senior Scór county final will be held in Carrig on Bannow Community Centre on Fri.  8 Feb. at 7.30pm. All clubs are asked to make an effort to encourage members to participate in this competition and to contact any person in your club who may have an interest in any of the competition categories. Senior Scór is for 17 years and older and categories include figure dancing, set dancing, solo-singing, instrumental music, ballad group, léiriú and recitation. Winners of Scór solo singing have previously been invited to perform the national anthem in Innovate Wexford Park and this is a tradition that is hoped will continue.  Rules can be accessed on www.gaa.ie
